Title Larval Dispersal and Adult Emergence (D/E) Trap for Thrips
Abstract
This utility model relates to a dispersal and emergence trap that is used for monitoring the population, and management of thrips that cause damage to flowers and young fruits of mango. The utility model comprises a hollow cylindrical drum; a pair of circular holes oppositely drilled on the sides of the drum; a circular division plate offsetibly attached at a distance from the top end of said drum; a pair of opposing L-pipes with one end slottedly attached on the said pair of circular holes, and a pair of collection jars fixedly attached on the other ends of said pair of opposing L-pipes. It aims to address the need for efficient local thrips pest population monitoring device to determine when to apply chemical control to prevent economic damage. The collection jars of the dispersal and emergence trap may be filled with baits that could lure thrips and make the trap more efficient.
