Title INTELLIGENT AERATED BULK STORAGE SYSTEM FOR IN-SHELL PEANUTS
Abstract
The utility model relates to a storage structure equipped with a microcontroller system that is used to store, monitor and maintain the quality of in-shell peanuts through automatic ambient air aeration. The utility model consists of a silo, a main frame, blower fans and a microcontroller system. It aims to improve the poor postharvest practice of local peanut farmers particularly on storage wherein peanut pods are stored using sacks and are stacked in a shed or a storage area. The microcontroller is encrypted with a modelled program using peanut properties allowing it to automatically operate the blower fans and maintain in-store conditions that are beneficial and optimal for the stored peanut product. The microcontroller system automatically controls the blower fans depending on the prevailing ambient air conditions to maintain an optimum environment for the stored peanut pods, thus prolonging the shelf life of the stored product without compromising the product quality. The microcontroller system could also upload data to an online cloud for remote monitoring of the overall status of the storage system.
